US Admits its Failed Policy and Crimes against Cuba &  Normalises Relationship!

ACIS Urges the Cuban People to be Eternally VIGILANT!

  1. The Amilcar Cabral Ideological School (ACIS)joins the rest of humanity to celebrate the partial capitulation of US failed policy, its release of the last three of the Cuban Five in exchange for US' counter-revolutionary agents imprisoned in Cuba, and the process for the restoration of diplomatic relationship with Cuba as captured in the historic speech delivered yesterday by US President Barrack Obama. But the lifting of the over 50 years economic blockade against Cuba by US imperialism still remains unresolved.
  2. The economic blockade has entailed economic sabotage of the Cuban State, trade embargo and restrictions and in particular, the domination of the Organisation of Latin-American States and its manipulation by US imperialism to cut off diplomatic and trade relations with Cuba since February 3, 1962.
  3. We salute President Barrack Obama for saving the US establishment further guilts and crimesagainst humanity and his subtle acknowledgment of Cuban achievement in advanced medicine. However, we took serious NOTE that President Obama’s speech is full of rhetoric and bobby traps of a change of approach, with implications to still undermine the building of socialism.
  4. Equally, we congratulate Cuban President Raul Castrofor his reciprocal speech, acknowledging President Obama’s gesture and the release of two US agents imprisoned in Cuba. However, we are particularly gratified that President Raul re-affirmed the commitment of the Cuban people to the ideals of Socialism and mutual respect for equality of nations.
  5. We salute the Cuban people, the July 26 Movement, the Council of State of Cuba, the Committee for the Defence of the Revolution, and the Free the Cuban Five organisations in Cuba and across the world, whose sustained campaigns might have influenced the new thinking of President Obama administration.
  6. We salute the Cuban Embassy in Nigeria for their solidarity and frienship with ACIS in the campaign in Nigeria for the Freedom of the Cuban Five. Also, we salute the Nigerian people who rallied behind ACIS at the April 19,2014 African Solidarity Day with Cuba to demand Freedom for the Cuban Five and an End to the Economic Blockade.
  7. Much as we commend President Obama for admiting the wrongs and crimes of hispredecessors against Cuba, but the cause for caution remains on the part of Cuba. We believe that so long as US imperialism is committed to its 21st Century agenda of global dominance of economy, politics and security, the building and development of socialism in Cuba will not escape its attack. The recent case in the overthown of Gadaffi and destruction of Libya and what is ongoing in Egypt, Middle East, Africa, etc, is a clear indicator that the building of Socialism cannot endure with imperialist obsession.
  8. We urge President Obama toextend this olive branch to the recognition of the Palestinian State and stop suppllying weapons of human genocide to Isreal. It should be noted that the Cuban revolutiion is renowned for his unparallel internationalist defence of the Palestinian cause for self-determination.

ACIS Urges the Cuban People to be Eternally VIGILANT!

  1. We urge President Raul Castro to thread with caution in opening its doors to the predictableinflux of US immigrants & Cuban counter-revolutionaries aided by the US establishment on American soil for the past five decades.Comrade Raul should ACT with the caution of an African proverb that says: “a crab is eternally eyes-opened to defend itself”. Since the Cuban revolutionary struggle to victory on Jan 1, 1959 was a product of guerilla principles, the defence of socialism should be guided by eternal vigilance.
  2. As a movement committed to the struggle for the triumph of socialism as the alternative socio-economic and political system, ACIS' solidarity with Cuba has to do with deepening the idea of socialism. Therefore, we urge President Raul andthe leadership of the Cuban revolution to be guided by the two Declarations of Havana of  1960 and 1962 that defined the anti-imperialist and socialist character of the Cuban revolution. We note that, without the adherence to the principles of the two Declarations, the revolution wouldnt have survived the US aggression, which first started, with the several failed elimination plots of Fidel Castro and  economic sabotage and culminated into the economic blockade.
  3. The Declarations led Cuba to its famous inspirational words: Patria o Muerte (Homeland or Death! Socialism or Death!)

Viva la Revolucion

The people United can never be Defeated
